Getting there

Durban’s King Shaka International Airport has direct flights from London Heathrow and from Dubai, which has easy connections with Dublin, London Stansted, the United States, Australia and many other destinations.

Where to stay

Delegates to GIDC2020 will arrange their own accommodation, choosing from the wide range of accommodation options available in South Africa’s premier holiday destination. There are international and local hotel chains, particularly on the beachfront. If you prefer a comfortable B&B establishment, we recommend you choose one on the Berea Ridge (Glenwood, Berea and Morningside) within easy access to the congress venue.

Book early as July is the winter holiday season in South Africa. In addition, the weekend of 3 – 5 July 2020 will see the premier SA horse-racing meeting, the Vodacom Durban July, crowding the city to capacity.

What to do

Durban brims with cultural and entertainment options, from museums that record the path of South African history to an internationally renowned aquarium Ushaka Marine World and celebrations of local culture such as Moyo Restaurant Ushaka Marine World or the PheZulu experience in the nearby Valley of a Thousand Hills.
